I feel like I’ve been quiet lately on my blog because well, life. There have been a couple of things I’ve wanted to write about but just haven’t been able to find the words. If you read my post, When You Want to Give Your Child a Sibling But Can’t, then you know I’ve spend the last few months going through fertility treatments. I’m not really ready to talk about this whole situation, because in all honesty it sucks. But after four months of receiving shots and basically being my doctors guinea pig, we’ve decided to halt treatment until we move somewhere with a fertility clinic.
This is definitely one of those times when living on an island reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally blows. But we just don’t have the resources here. Luckily we’re moving next summer so maybe we can revisit treatment when we get settled wherever we’re going.
My Mom always taught me to try to see the good in every situation and at times this has been hard for me. But even though I’m having fertility issues now, I’ve been blessed with the sweetest little girl. I’ve been able to find peace in knowing that maybe she just needs me to herself for a little while longer.
This whole fertility situation has caused me to step back and just appreciate all that I do have in my life. I’ve been spending a lot of one-on-one time with Madison and my husband. Since the weather has been warming up, we’ve been taking lots of hikes/walks, spending time at the park and making memories as a family of three. Sometimes it’s easy to look at what we don’t have, instead of what we do. I’m trying to make more of a point to focus on the good.
We’ve been heading to the beach on the sunny days and Madison absolutely loves looking for seashells! She loves to find the largest clam shell she can and then will refuse to put it down the entire time we’re at the beach. We’re working on quite the collection of seashells and seaglass, so I guess I need to work on some pinterest projects!
A few weeks ago I wrote about how the Body Boss Method is Getting Me Bikini Body Ready. I’m still using this diet plan and it is absolutely amazing! It’s helped change my relationship with food without leaving me feeling deprived. I’m concentrating more on what kind of foods I eat, instead of the amount of calories/carbs. Eating whole foods and watching my sugar intake has helped immensely! I’ve started making my own salad dressing (much easier than I ever imagined), granola and this delicious avocado pudding is my new favorite snack!
Avocado’s are an excellent source of healthy fats. Plus they help keep you fuller longer. I’ve had a strong love for avocado’s for years, but I’ve just started making this old favorite recipe of mine again! It keeps me full and is sweet enough to help curb any cravings that my sweet
It’s extremely easy to make and is the perfect healthy snack for the warmer days ahead. Plus you only need three ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. All you do is mix avocado, coconut milk, and honey in your blender!
Wa-La! It’s as easy as that! If you’d prefer your Avocado pudding to be cool, you can either place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or you can add a few ice cubes to your blender.
