For the past few weeks, my husband and I have been embracing a low carb lifestyle. I feel better than I have in a really long time! I’ve been trying to pay more attention to what nutrients go into my body, instead of giving into cravings.

Burger Bowl

While I know the low carb and gluten-free lifestyle is what’s best for MY body, there are some things that I miss, like juicy hamburgers. But instead of giving into a craving that would do more harm than good to my body, I’ve come up with a healthier option – that is still mouthwatering delicious.

Burger Bowl

This Burger Bowl recipe is made with the NEW MorningStar Farms® Meat Lovers Burgers , making this recipe gluten-free, low carb and Vegan. These burgers are perfectly seasoned and pack each bite with plant based protein and tasty veggies! Crisp lettuce, sauteed onions and mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and spicy jalapenos combine with a sweet homemade dressing that will leave you asking for seconds (just ask my husband!).

While I am not a vegetarian, I have been trying to reduce the amount of meat in my diet. Did you know that studies show that consumers are reducing the amount of meat they consume? We currently have “Meatless Mondays” in our house. The MorningStar Farms® Meat Lovers Burgers has been a great way to give our family the “beef like” taste and texture while packing in 27 grams of positive Plant Based Protein.

Burger Bowl

Whenever we host a barbecue I always make sure to have MorningStar Farms® Meat Lovers Burgers on hand! These are really perfect for any occasion. They’re made with no artificial ingredients, are packed with plant proteins and are vegan approved. And did I mention they are delicious? While I picked up the Meat Lovers Burger because of the nutrients and no artificial ingredients, the taste is what keeps me coming back for me. They are the PERFECT protein for the Burger Bowl.

Burger Bowl

I was able to use Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup service to purchase the MorningStar Farms® Meat Lovers Burgers and I could not believe just how easy this was! As a Mom of a 2-and-a-half year old, I’m a fan of convenience. So when there is a service that allows me to get my groceries without getting out of the car (and avoid public toddler meltdowns) then you can sign. me. up.

There is also currently an ibotta offer for MorningStar Farms®Meat Lovers Burgers when shopping at Walmart that you don’t want to miss! Who doesn’t want to save a little money on their groceries?

Burger Bowl

Making the Burger Bowl is extremely easy. First, warm up your grill to a medium/low heat.  While the grill warms up, you can slice veggies. Slice your onion, mushrooms and tomatoes. Drain your jalapenos.

Place MorningStar Farms®Meat Lovers Burgers on your grill. Grill for 1-2 minutes per side. Watch the burgers carefully because they will cook quickly.

Next, it’s time to saute the onions and mushrooms. Add onions and mushrooms to a pan with olive oil, garlic powder and black pepper. Stir frequently. Saute on medium heat until the onions and mushrooms are soft.

Burger Bowl

Add lettuce, MorningStar Farms® Meat Lovers Burgers, sauteed onions/mushrooms, tomatoes and jalapenos to a bowl. Now it’s time to make the quickest, easiest and tastiest dressing ever! Add coconut oil, lemon juice, dijon mustard and honey together and mix until well combined. Then add to your salad bowl.

I often eat my veggie burger on a bed of lettuce. I want to leave room for the fries. 😉 hehe

I am not a huge fan of burgers on the bun and so this would be so perfect for me. I am definitely going to be giving this a try.
