As I’ve spoken about before, my husband is in the Coast Guard and we’re currently living in Alaska. Since we’re so far away from family, I have an amazing set of girlfriends who have become like my family. For this party, I have decorated and personalized coffee mugs to be paired with Starbucks® Holiday Blend Ground Coffee and Starbucks® Peppermint Mocha Ground Flavored Ground Coffee.

This is such a fun and easy tutorial, I couldn’t help but make a few extras for myself – and drink lots of delicious coffee in the process.

To make the personalized mugs you’ll only need a white coffee mug, large letter/monogram stickers, and an oil-based paint pen.

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then, stick a large letter sticker on the coffee mug. I chose the letter “C” for our last name.

Then, use the tip of the oil-based paint pen to leave small dots around the letter. Make sure to “dot” closely to your letter. This is how you will outline the letter. Go Crazy! Put as many dots as you’d like and use several colors if you please. I used red, green and gold to make my mugs more holiday festive!

Then you’ll peel off the letter sticker. You can choose to either be finished at this step or color in your letter. I thought my mug still needed more pizazz so I used the gold oil based painter pen to fill in the letter “C”.

Place decorated mug on a cookie sheet and bake it in the oven for 40 minutes. Once the timer went off, I let the coffee mugs cool down completely in the oven. This took a few hours but helped set in the decorations.
