This year, I’ve created a DIY Fondue Gift Basket as the perfect Valentine’s Day surprise for my husband. I’m so excited to tell you about this today because not only is it easy to make and delicious BUT it’s also made for two. So you can enjoy this gift too!

Fondue Gift Box

The last few years Matt and I have started a new tradition of cooking dinner at home for Valentine’s Day. We currently live on an island with a limited amount of restaurants and babysitters are expensive. We’ve started cooking our favorite dinner at home where we can actually hear each other over dinner, enjoy as much wine as we want and do all this while watching our toddler sleep on the baby monitor.

A night at home for Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be boring. This DIY Fondue Gift Basket is an exciting dessert idea for your romantic night. You can enjoy feeding each other fondue dipped strawberries, marshmallows or pineapple while your loved one reads the American Greetings cards at Walmart you picked out just for them. Sometimes finding the words to express our love for our significant other are hard to express, which is why I love that American Greetings cards at Walmart always has the perfect card to express what I want to say.

Putting together this Fondue Gift Basket for my husband was super easy and a lot of fun to put together. I used a cake Box as the gift box and made separators for the various foods from a cereal box. Before placing the separators, I laid American Greetings pink tissue paper on the bottom of the box. I then glued pink American Greetings tissue paper around the separators, before placing them in the box. I loved being able to use the tissue paper to make the box appear more festive.

In the middle of the box I placed a wine glass, melting pot and fondue ingredients. In the remaining boxes I placed the food we will use for dipping. I decided to use strawberries, pineapple, marshmallows, rice krispy treats, banana and graham crackers. But let’s be real – everything tastes good when dipped in chocolate fondue.

Once the box was complete, I used American Greetings stickers to decorate the outside. Adding my own personal touch makes this gift even more appealing to the eye. Since no fondue experience is complete without a bottle of wine, I added one to this gift set as well. Like the gift box, I wanted to add my own personal touch with the help of American Greetings. After removing the wine label, I used American Greetings stickers to make my own label.

Once all of this was complete, I added two of my favorite American Greetings cards from Walmart! I couldn’t decide which I liked the most, so I just added both. When you spend your life with someone, they’re so much more than just your significant other. They’re your best friend. And like best friends do – you have sweet memories and funny ones. American Greetings cards from Walmart can help you give your loved one the exact message (or two) that you want.

All you have left to do at this point is wrap the wine and Fondue Gift Box in your favorite American Greetings gift bag and tissue paper!

Once you give this to your honey, you can easily make homemade fondue dip yourself. Just add an unsweetened chocolate bar and 1/2 cup of almond milk to a saucepan. Melt and mix together, then add to a warmer. This recipe is so easy and your Valentine will not be disappointed!

You can pick up American Greetings products for your Valentine from your local Walmart in the card aisle. There is currently an Ibotta offer to earn $1 when you purchase an American Greetings card from Walmart. You can now save money, while finding the perfect card!
