In retrospect, I think I used alcohol, food and a party-loving attitude to hide the fact that I wasn’t happy. I was able to create habits and routines that helped me rediscover myself and lose 30 pounds twice – including postpartum! Through my own health and fitness journey, I’ve discovered that taking control of your health is done by creating healthy routines that become habits.   One of the financially smartest things I’ve done, is join Sam’s Club. How to Make a Cross Country Move Easy

With these tips, I know our cross country move will be much easier this time.   Schedule Ahead of Time The great thing about scheduling ahead of time is that you can always change your dates later if you need to. We live on a tiny island that is only accessible by ferry or plane. Our island is also a very popular tourist destination during the summer months. We will more than likely drive to our next duty station, so we will need to schedule the ferry as soon as my husband receives orders. Scheduling and securing a moving company is also very important. If you live in a large military town, finding movers can be tough during transfer season. One of the best things you can do to prepare for your move is to schedule your movers as soon as possible. Don’t forget to also schedule and secure where you will be staying ahead of time. Hotels are known to increase their rates as they fill up rooms, so the sooner you can schedule a hotel – the more likely you are to save money.   Plan Your Trip Are you going to be driving or flying? Will you be trying to get to your destination as fast as possible or do you want to make a few stops along the way? These are important things to consider for you and your family. Once again, planning ahead and figuring this out will help make your cross country trip much easier. When my husband and I moved from North Carolina to Alaska, we planned our driving route MONTHS in advance. Our daughter was only 6 months old at the time, so we knew we wanted to make this drive as peaceful, comfortable and quick as possible. Having these directions saved us a lot of time and frustration. Do you need to keep receipts for reimbursement for your move? How to Make a Cross Country Move Easy

With these tips, I know our cross country move will be much easier this time.   Schedule Ahead of Time The great thing about scheduling ahead of time is that you can always change your dates later if you need to. We live on a tiny island that is only accessible by ferry or plane. Our island is also a very popular tourist destination during the summer months. We will more than likely drive to our next duty station, so we will need to schedule the ferry as soon as my husband receives orders. Scheduling and securing a moving company is also very important. If you live in a large military town, finding movers can be tough during transfer season. One of the best things you can do to prepare for your move is to schedule your movers as soon as possible. Don’t forget to also schedule and secure where you will be staying ahead of time. Hotels are known to increase their rates as they fill up rooms, so the sooner you can schedule a hotel – the more likely you are to save money.   Plan Your Trip Are you going to be driving or flying? Will you be trying to get to your destination as fast as possible or do you want to make a few stops along the way? These are important things to consider for you and your family. Once again, planning ahead and figuring this out will help make your cross country trip much easier. When my husband and I moved from North Carolina to Alaska, we planned our driving route MONTHS in advance. Our daughter was only 6 months old at the time, so we knew we wanted to make this drive as peaceful, comfortable and quick as possible.
