My daughter is 4 and at that age where she’s suddenly super picky and HATES trying veggies. Veggies that she used to love, suddenly are “gross”. Get Moving

The only way to lose weight and tone up is to burn more calories than you eat. While my kids do not need to lose weight, I think it’s extremely important for them to be active. I grew up playing sports, playing outside and running my energy off – so when this cold Massachusetts weather allows it, I think it’s extremely important for us to get moving together as a family. During the warmer months my husband and I will run while Madison rides her scooter or bike and push the baby in the stroller. We love getting outside and just playing with our kids. It is so important for us to show our kids that movement and sports is FUN. 

It’s also extremely important to me to show my kids how important it is to take care of our bodies. I’m passionate about my health and fitness but it took me becoming a mother to get this way. Having two kids at home, makes it hard for me to work out at my house – so I joined a gym with childcare. This way I’m able to take a class or get in a run on the treadmill while my kid’s are in childcare. It’s so important to make our health a priority and this is one way I’m able to do it. 

One of our favorite ways to add protein into our diet – either as a breakfast substitute or post workout fuel – is by making protein smoothies with Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey.
