Homemade Pupcakes Recipe

On Sunday we celebrated Riley, our yellow lab’s, 2nd birthday!

I love all reasons to celebrate. But my sweet and crazy Riley holds a special place in my heart. She was like my first child and the first “person” that solely depended on me for her way of life. I even call her my “dogter”, because she’s definitely more than just a pet to me.

Since November 13th was her birthday, I figured what better way to celebrate than with pupcakes!?!

What are pupcakes you may ask? They’re cupcakes made with doggy safe ingredients that are specifically for doggies! The recipe is super easy and called for items that I already had stocked in my kitchen. I used flour, peanut butter, canned pumpkin, baking soda, honey and oats to make these pupcakes.

After mixing all the ingredients, grease your muffin tin and then add mix to pan. Cook on 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Allow muffins to cool before “icing” with peanut butter and garnishing with a milk bone.

This recipe makes 6 large pupcakes. This was such a fun way to do something special for our Riley on her birthday! If your dogs are like mine, they will absolutely LOVE these!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of oats
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • peanut butter & dog treats for topping

Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix pupcake ingredients together in bowl
  3. Spray cooking spray in muffin pan tins and then evenly distribute mix into tins
  4. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes
  5. Allow muffins to cook
  6. “Ice” with peanut butter and garnish with a dog treat! I used milk bones and my dogs were drooling at the site of such an amazing treat.

Let me know if your fur babies love this as much as mine did!
