Madison LOVES the Gerber yogurt bites than you can buy from Wal-Mart and most grocery stores. However, it’s really important to me to know what ingredients goes into my daughter’s food. And there’s a TON of added sugar to the store bought yogurt bites. Gerber yogurt bites are around $3 for a 1 oz bag. If your baby loves them as much as mine does then this bag goes pretty quickly. So I decided to make my own! Making homemade yogurt bites was surprisingly easy and baby approved!
Homemade yogurt bites is a quick and easy process. It takes about 15 minutes to prep the bites prior to freezing.
My own recipe requires only two ingredients plain yogurt and fruit of your choice. Plain greek yogurt works best – plus it has tons of protein! I bought a bag of frozen berries to put into my mix. Fresh fruit will work great as well. This recipe is very versatile and the options are endless!
I used a 24 oz bag of fruit and 2 cups of plain greek yogurt and pureed in my Ninja Blender. I absolutely LOVE this blender. It never fails me.
I poured the puree into a gallon ziplock bag and then cut the edge off. I used this to dollop the yogurt bites onto parchment paper. This way they took the small round shape that makes them easy for babies to pick up.
You will have to keep these yogurt bites in the freezer after making them. These will usually keep for about two weeks in your freezer.
