thredUP is an online consignment store that offers brands like J.Crew, Banana Republic, Old Navy and more – including designer brands – like Tibi, Milly, Lilly Pulitzer and more at deeply discounted prices. This way I’m able to keep my designer taste on a budget that keeps my husband happy.

I was able to score this beautiful romper by Collective Concepts New With Tags for $20! I can’t wait to wear this on vacation or out for a casual date night. This romper is stylish and comfortable, which is just what this Mama needs! It’s only 45 degrees in Alaska but I’m already planning all the fun places and events I can wear this super cute outfit to this summer.

Is it really even summer if a girl doesn’t have a pair of white skinny jeans? I found these J. Crew white jeans for $12 in perfect condition. $12!!! I paired them with a denim J.Crew tank top that I scored for a deal as well. White skinny jeans are perfect for every occasion. You can dress them up with wedges and top for a date night or down by wearing flats and a casual top. I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of them this summer. These will definitely be my go-to for girls lunches, date night and plenty of occasions in-between.

Casual dresses like this sleeveless dress from the Gap can be spruced up when paired with a stylish jean jacket. So, side note – a few years ago my husband told me jean jackets would never be stylish. Jokes on you Matthew, because jean jackets are in style! Madison and I both love to wear our jean jackets. They can add a fun look to any outfit and when you live in Alaska, they’re an added layer of warmth.

thredUP has such a great variety of clothes and outfits for every budget and style. I was able to snag some running shorts for a fraction of the cost that they are in store.

Besides the amazing clothes and deals that thredUP offers, thredUP is also using it’s platform to create a conversation on climate change and through sustainable fashion called Project re:made. In honor Earth Day, thredUP asked 12 artists to respond to the statement, “Climate Change Is Not Real” and the diverse reactions were printed on 1,000 secondhand t-shirts. The creations are a mix of cute, funny, ironic and provocative tongue-in-cheek response to climate change denial.

Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world, second only to petroleum. By printing designs on secondhand shirts instead of producing new materials, shoppers reduce their carbon, waste and water footprints by 73% per shirt. For every one of these T-shirts purchased, Project re:made reduces about 1 metric ton of carbon pollution, which is the equivalent of planting 95 trees that live for 10 years!

100% of net proceeds from Project re:made will go towards the environmental non-profit Cool Effect, which provides consistent funding to carbon reduction projects across the globe, preventing greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Purchasing a T-Shirt from Project re:made will be an awesome way to contribute to helping our environment this earth day and contributing to your closet.
