It’s officially August! It’s crazy how fast this summer is flying by. This summer has been a different one for us and I’m still not used to wearing jeans and long sleeves during July/August. But it’s been an amazing summer of firsts for my little family.
Each new month I’ve been trying to self reflect and set new goals for myself. Setting goals helps me realize what I need to work on and set up a game plan on how I’m going to do so. It keeps me accountable and focused on the task at hand.
This month I have several goals that I want to complete.
Stick with my clean diet. I have a gluten intolerance so my body cannot tolerate gluten. However, I am the WORST about eating it anyways and suffering the consequences later. It has really reeked havoc on my body. After a few doctors appointments and a stern talking to from my doctor, I’m getting it together and closing the door on gluten. I haven’t eaten gluten in two weeks. My poor husband has suffered through all the gluten free recipes/experiments and only complained over my GF pizza fail (t completely fell apart).WIth so many other alternatives there are plenty of things I can eat. I JUST REALLY LOVE TACO BELL.
Go to 3 fitness classes a week. This is great for my mind and body. I’m finally getting back to my pre-baby body and I’m falling in love with working out again. The fun fitness classes make it feel less like working out and more fun. I’ve noticed a change in my body and even fit in my pre-baby “skinny” jeans this week! Woo-Hoo! Going to the gym/classes is my “me” time. Madison gets to go to the child care there and play with the other babies and this Mama gets a little me-time.
Do something once a week to “Fill my Basket”. At my gym I’ve taken place in a summer fitness challenge. We have to mark off things that we do weekly and one of our options is to “fill our basket”. Filling your basket means to do a good deed for someone else. I think about doing things for family/friends/etc but sometimes get so caught up in my own craziness that I forget. I really want to start making good deeds for others a habit.
