Skincare Routine for Acne

It’s no secret to many of you, especially those who know me personally, that I’ve struggled with acne. It’s frustrating, annoying and embarrassing. I rarely had skin problems as a teenager when EVERYONE else seemed to. All of my skin issues started after graduating college and entering into adulthood.

I’ve been to several different dermatologists and have tried several different prescriptions from the strongest of prescriptions that dried my pores and required monthly blood labs to face pads that did nothing to help my acne. At 29 years-old, I still get blemishes whenever I’m stressed. Right now I even have a few on my cheeks.

Did you know that Differin® Gel is the first and only prescription strength retinoid now available over the counter for clearing and preventing acne? It’s the newest advancement and ingredient in the OTC acne category in over 30 years! As someone who used Differin® Gel when it was only available as a prescription, I am beyond excited to be able to pick up Differin® Gel in the skincare aisle of my local Walmart.

Today I’m partnering up with Differin® Gel to bring you a skin care routine to help you with your own acne.

Wash your face with warm water and a mild cleanser, like Differin® Balancing Cleanser. Pat skin dry with a clean towel.

1-2 times a week replace your daily cleanser with an exfoliator.

Skin toner helps restore your skin’s pH balance, after being disturbed while cleaning. Toner also helps remove oil and clean leftover dirt and grime.

Note: The use of exfoliator and toner may increase irritation when using Differin® Gel.

Apply a thin layer of Differin® Gel all over your face, once a day. Even when your skin is clear of acne, it is important to still use Differin® Gel. Differin® Gel, as it clears breakouts where they start (deep in the pores), prevents breakouts before they begin, and as a result, restores skin’s texture and tone.

Apply moisturizer, such as Differin® Balancing Moisturizer, to keep skin hydrated.

Over the next eight weeks I’m going to incorporate this skincare routine into my mornings with the help of Differin® Gel. Differin® Gel contains the only multi-benefit dermatologist recommended retinoid, Adapalene. Since Differin® Gel is now available without a prescription you can join me in my quest for clear skin.

Stay tuned to see my after results in 8 weeks!
