When I met my husband, I quickly learned how passionate he was about his favorite sports teams, but especially football. Our Sunday routine quickly became making football food and cheering on our favorite teams. Even after moving to Alaska where football starts at 9AM, this is still our tradition. Our three-year-old even participates now!

Throughout football season we love to try out new recipes and perfect them before the Big Game. This year, we will be adding this Sweet and Savory Popcorn Mix Recipe to the menu!

This Sweet and Savory Popcorn Mix Recipe will blow your taste buds out of the water! It’s the perfect blend of Orville Redenbacher’s® Movie Theater Butter popcorn with a sweet and salty mix. I love using Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn because not only is the taste amazing, but there are no artificial preservatives, flavors, or dyes. Orville Redenbacher’s is the only leading popcorn brand that uses REAL butter. Orville Redenbacher’s truly is the best quality for our cherished moments.

You can purchase Orville Redenbacher’s Movie Theater Butter popcorn at your local Walmart where you’d normally find the popcorn.

Making this recipe was SO simple. I used ingredients like Orville Redenbacher’s Movie Theater Butter popcorn, homemade caramel covered popcorn, dark chocolate covered pretzels, salted almonds, and candy coated chocolates. The flavor combinations of sweet, salty and buttery were phenomenal!

To start, you pop your Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn in the microwave and try to refrain from eating when you smell the buttery deliciousness fill your kitchen. While your popcorn is popping, you can make your caramel. I always buy the caramel bits that you can melt down, or if you’re not lazy (like me) you can make your own. Once popcorn is ready, dip about a cup of popcorn into caramel. Fully coat and place on parchment paper to dry. Don’t you dare think about buying the store bought caramel popcorn, you will lose out on some major buttery caramel flavoring!

Once caramel popcorn is dry, you can combine all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix until well combined. I like to use sliced salted almonds instead of the whole ones because they’re more kid and husband-who-likes-to-yell-at-the-tv friendly. But either will taste great!

I’ve always struggled with enjoying sweet and savory snacks. It was not until recently, that I came to truly appreciate the goodness that is sweet and savory being combined. I’ll have to try this recipe on a future movie night.
