The Best Holiday Sangria

The holidays have always been my favorite time of the year. When my husband and I were still living in North Carolina we had our own Thanksgiving traditions with my family. We would have Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house. I’d spend the day helping my mom cook and Matt would often taste test. It was always special being able to get together with family, eat delicious food and enjoy our time together.

When the Coast Guard moved us 5,000 miles away to Alaska a year-and-a-half ago, we knew we would have to create new holiday traditions. Luckily, we are apart of an amazing Coast Guard community and have made friends who have become family. This year, for the first time ever, I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner. I’m excited to bring my friends together and to celebrate what we’re thankful for this holiday season. I have the perfect Holiday Sangria Recipe that will no doubt be the hit of our Thanksgiving dinner.

This Holiday Sangria is crisp, fresh and the perfect drink to bring your party together. The fresh apples, orange and cranberries are refreshing when mixed with a Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Red Blend base and sparkling cider. Woodbridge Red Blend was launched in January 2017 and has quickly become one of my favorites, especially for the holiday season. The wine offers warm, toasty aromas and flavors, including jammy blackberry, vanilla, and baking spices. It’s full and rich with a long, flavorful finish. It’s the perfect base for Holiday Sangria!

Before I give you the recipe for this delicious Holiday Sangria, I have to tell you about how I put a WHOLE Thanksgiving dinner spread together all while my daughter napped!

How is this possible?!?!?!

Well my daughter did take a three-hour nap today, which rarely happens anymore and knowing I’d get to taste my favorite Holiday Sangria once I finished was definitely a great motivator. This reasonable prep time can be attributed to Butterball Whole Turkey and Marie Callender’s Dessert Pies.

I love how Butterball takes the hard work out of Thanksgiving. Butterball Whole Turkeys are tender, juicy and most-importantly, natural, giving you the highest quality turkey at the center of your Thanksgiving celebration. After you have that first taste of Turkey this Thanksgiving, you’ll know why Butterball is the number one brand of turkey in America. They also are the only ones with a team of turkey experts at the Turkey Talk-Line who are ready and waiting to answer all of your important cooking questions. And they will do it however you want to ask them – text (844-877-3456), call (1-800-BUTTERBALL) or live chat.

Who else would love to forget spending hours making a homemade pie, when you can still get the same taste while your oven does all the work? Um hello, sign this Mama up! Marie Callender’s dessert pies give us all the taste, while taking out the work. I purchased the Southern Pecan and Chocolate Satin pie, which tasted like I’d spent hours in the kitchen. When in reality that was not the case at all. Marie Callender’s also is introducing Loaf Cakes this holiday season. The loaf cakes are made from scratch with real ingredients and no preservatives or artificial colors. Whether you choose a pie, loaf cake or both you’ll end your Thanksgiving dinner on a high note that tastes homemade.

Other than the amazing low-key prep time and amazing taste, the best part about Butterball Whole Turkey and Marie Callender’s is that it pairs PERFECTLY with Holiday Sangria!
